Karthik Dial Seytha Yenn: An epilogue to VTV

It has been 10 years since Karthik and Jessie decided to travel on different roads. And, it took just more than a minute for Gautham Vasudev Menon to remind us of Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa.

After one minute 17 seconds, to be precise, A R Rahman’s soothing music from VTV is heard. The music makes us realise that we’re not in an alien world, but rather a world we’re familiar with. Along with the music, even we’re back, yet again, into Jessie’s and Karthik’s world.

Now, we exactly know what’s going on in Karthik’s mind. To an extent where we know that he wants to talk to Jessie. That’s the lasting impact that Gautham Vasudev Menon has managed to create through Vinnaithaandi Varuvaya. And all of a sudden Karthik Dial Seytha Yenn does not feel like something created during quarantine to keep us entertained. But it feels a bit more personal.
